These lovely lightweight cups with handles are designed and handcrafted by Hidetoshi Takahashi in his family run workshop in Hokkaido, Japan. To achieve thicknesses of just 2 millimeters—generally considered impossible for wood utensils—Hidetoshi Takahashi has developed a special blade for the lathe used in creating his Kami series cups. The key is to eliminate all unnecessary vibrations and stabilise the lathe’s movement. Meticulously executed, the cups are made from Castor Aralia wood and have a food-safe polyurethane coating inside. Made in Japan. Sold individually.
