This small vase is the perfect size for compact bunches of flowers. The sharp, faceted edges of its hexagonal form respond beautifully to sunlight. It has a lovely cream satin glaze finish,and works beautifully with other members of the Morandi Collection. There are six vases in the collection so far, and like their namesake, the painter Giorgio Morandi, they seem cool, calm and collected. Auckland-born Rachel Carley established a ceramic design practice in 1994, and has recently completed her PhD in Architecture. The Rachel Carley collection contains a range of elegant and eclectic forms. They are highly collectable, so are less likely to be part of a disposable 'throwaway' culture.
